We would love for Bay Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry to be your child's dental healthcare home. Whether you are bringing him into our office for his semi-annual preventative cleaning or to soothe a toothache, our compassionate team of dental professionals is resolved to provide quality care to your child.
Dr. Wells Hammock also specializes in in-office full-mouth restoration. He is licensed to provide this type of care while the patient is under oral conscious sedation. We are one of the few dental practices in lower Alabama that is willing and able to care for your child in this manner.

Oral conscious sedation is recommended when extensive dental work is required. Unlike being put to sleep at the hospital, your child will be drowsy but awake, able to breath on his own, and able to respond to physical stimulation and verbal commands.
However, like a hospital setting, a parent is not allowed in the treatment room during the procedure. This allows all dental professionals to focus 100% of their attention on your child's safety and wellbeing and conversely, for your child to focus 100% on them.
The sedation medicine is a combination of two drugs: Versed and Hydroxyzine. In combination with nitrous oxide (commonly referred to as laughing gas), these medicines will calm your child while simultaneously reducing anxiety and pain.
In addition to minimizing pain, oral conscious sedation can alter your child’s mood, making him or her less combative toward the procedure. It also oftentimes creates amnesia, so that your child does not remember the actual procedure.
We are not currently accepting new patients who are covered by Alabama Medicaid.
